Silicone toys are quite expensive, and learning better storage methods can greatly extend their lifespan. Below, I've compiled some storage methods for you (which also apply to our platinum silicone products).
If you're willing to spend a little money for the best protection, the following materials are the best choices:
Tencel / Lyocell

Mulberry Silk

This material is used for high-end silk scarves and silk nightgowns. It's commonly used to make luxury scarves, silk lingerie, and high-end beauty pillowcases. It's the smoothest fabric available and won't abrade the skin texture of silicone. Only pure white is selected.

High-count cotton (80 count or higher)

It's the kind of extra-thick, reflective white bed sheet used in nicer hotels. It's commonly used for high-end shirts and premium bedding. This high-grade cotton fabric is lint-free, so it won't leave your doll covered in fur. It offers a high level of protection. The price is moderate.

Tyvek

It's the kind of paper that feels like paper, but it's actually tear-resistant and water-resistant. It's commonly used for medical device packaging and waterproof shopping bags. It's an archive-grade protective material, absolutely stain-resistant, and completely dust-proof. It offers a high level of protection at a moderate price.

Storage bags that are readily available:
Transparent PE Bag

Transparent, zip-top food storage bags for the kitchen. Like the kind you use to portion out leftover nuts. This material is chemically very stable.

White Non-woven Bag

It's one of those cloth shopping bags you buy at the supermarket, the kind of white tote bag that comes with a pair of sneakers. It doesn't shed. While the feel isn't the best, it's very breathable. Just make sure it's pure white (colorless).

Old White Pillowcase
If your white pillowcase has been washed more than ten times, then it also makes a pretty good storage bag.

Never Use:
Plastic bags with logos or colors

These are ubiquitous plastic bags. Any color or lettering will leave ink on the silicone sealant, making it impossible to wash off.
Flannel/coral fleece
![]()
Like those fluffy pajamas or fuzzy blankets. These fluffy bags will instantly cover your silicone toys in lint, making them very difficult to clean.
Cardboard Box
Cardboard boxes have a lot of paper fibers on their surface. If you put toys in them directly, they will get covered in tiny bits of paper fibers that are very difficult to clean.

If you absolutely must use a cardboard box, you can line it with a layer of EPE pearl cotton, which is the white foam sheet used to line appliances or fragile items inside shipping boxes. It's essentially made of polyethylene (PE), similar to food storage bags, and is chemically very stable, so it will absolutely not stain silicone. This can be used as a temporary solution.
In any case, use colorless or white materials to store your silicone toys.
